Q2.What courses can I purchase for Self-Paced Training?
Self-Paced Training is available for all ACE:L1 through ACE:L5 courses and the following specialty courses: ACE:CVP, ACE:AVD, ACE:DMF, ACE:NDR, ACE:CAMPUS and ACE:M&E.
SDN Pros offers payment options to fit any budget. Pay in full to receive a discount or Pay-As-You-Go for flexibility. Pay-As-You-Go is currently offered for ACE:L1 through ACE:L3.

Q3.Can I share my Self-Paced Training course with others?
No. This is an officially licensed product from Arista, so we maintain one product per person. This is also important in order to register and attempt a CORE exam as official training is required before registration is allowed.

Q4.Can I register for a CORE exam once I have completed my course?
Absolutely! As soon as you feel prepared and ready, feel free to register.
NOTE: Pay-As-You-Go students will need to purchase all segments within the corresponding ACE level to qualify for the exam. Learn more about CORE Certification.

Q5.How do I access my Self-Paced Training courses?
All of your courses will be easily accessible through your Dashboard within Arista Academy.

Q6.Video Controls: Re-watch, Skip, Fast-forward, or Rewind
To unlock the ability to skip, fast-forward, or rewind, each video must be watched in full the first time through.

Q7.What if I don't feel like I have had enough lab practice?
Additional lab time can be purchased through Arista Academy. Find “Lab Add-Ons” in the left hand menu.

Q2.How do I know which course to take?
You may select a course according to your skillset. You can find our more information on what each course entails through our ACE Certification Training page.

Q3.Do I have to take the ACE courses in order of level?
Absolutely not! The ACE Program is designed to allow you to start in whichever level makes the most sense for you and your skillset/knowledge level. However, the CORE exams will build in difficulty and use topics from lower levels, so be sure to review those topics.

Q4.Which course should I take if I have no experience with Networking?
ACE:L1 is for those beginning their networking journey.

Q5.Are there PDF versions of the ACE course descriptions?
Yes, you can download a course Blueprint from the top left side of each individual course page.

Q6.How do I register for a course?
Create an account on Arista Academy – this is a quick and easy process. Select the course you would like to take. You can register and pay for your course directly within Arista Academy. Depending on your payment choice, either a member of the SDN Pros team will reach out to you to finalize your order or it will be completed immediately.

Q7.How do I cancel or change my course date?
Fill out the Contact Us form on our website. You will need to provide details of your booking and one of our team members will respond to you within 48 hours.

Q8.Can I arrange group training?

Q9.I would like a copy of the course recordings.
Course recordings are for quality assurance only and cannot be distributed.

Q1.How do I register for an Exam?
You can register for a CORE exam through Arista Academy. For more information about our Cloud Operational Readiness Evaluations please visit the What is Core? page.

Q2.Do I have to take the exam level equivalent to the course I took?
You may take a lower level exam or equivalent.

Q3.Do I receive a certificate after I pass my exam?
Yes, you will receive a digital badge and certification for passing a CORE exam. We use Credly for sending and maintaining all certifications. Certificates can be downloaded directly from Arista Academy.

Q4.What is needed to study for an exam?
Everything required to complete the CORE exam is covered in the course that made you eligible to take that CORE exam. Additional lab time can be purchased for extra practice if desired. You can find this in Arista Academy.

Q5.Are there any multiple choice questions?
No. All Arista exams are lab-based exams (practical). This is meant to provide you with a more “real-world scenario” and test your knowledge and skills rather than your memorization of commands.

Q6.Is the lab entirely CLI?
As a practical lab, you will have the choice of using CLI or CVP for the majority of your configuration. However, there are some specific tasks which will require one of them to be used; both must be known to be prepared.

Q7.How long are the exams?
ACE:L1 & CVP = 2 hours
ACE:L2, ACE:L3 & ACE:L5 = 4 hours
ACE:L4 = 5 hours

Q8.What if I fail my exam? Can I try again?
You absolutely may retake any CORE exam, however you must complete a waiting period before any retakes to ensure adequate time for restudy and preparation. We want you to succeed!

Q9.What resources or materials can I use during my exam?
Everything is at your disposal (except another person to help you!): Arista’s course documentation and design guides, saved configurations from course labs, designs used from customer deployments, even whitepapers!

Q10.How will my exam be graded?
All CORE exams are pass/fail only. All tasks in the exam scenario will be required to be completed in order to pass.

Q11.What will the exam environment be like?
Your CORE exam environment is the same as the lab environment you used in your training, so be sure to practice and be familiar with it.

Q12.Will I be on my own during the exam or will others be present?
Your CORE exam will be held via Zoom, with a proctor helping run and monitor the CORE exam. There will be an introduction to the CORE exam for all candidates in the main room, and then you will have your own breakout room and will not be distracted by others to complete your CORE exam.

Q13.Are there any requirements to take an exam?
Official Arista training must be completed before you are able to register for a CORE exam. This can be Self-Paced Training or an Instructor-Led Training Course.

Q14.When and how will I get my exam materials and information?
You will access your CORE exam through Arista Academy. The exam course will contain a Zoom link and information confirming the time of your exam. Once you have joined the exam via Zoom, the exam proctor will send you all of the exam information you need before your exam officially begins. This information includes your lab link with exam scenario, exam scenario username and exam scenario password. The lab credential username and password are in the lab link.

Q15.How long will I have to wait to get my exam results?
Typically you will receive your results within 48-72 business hours. After passing a CORE exam, your Credly badge and certificate will take up to a week.

Q1.Where do I find my lab guide?
All Lab Guides can be accessed directly from within your lab environment.

Q2.How much lab time do I get with my course? What if I do not have enough lab time?
For all courses, you will have 120 hours of lab access to use for 90 days. You can purchase additional lab time if required.

Q3.CVP is not working or I have received a 502 Bad Gateway Error.
Check the lab link and make sure you have waited at least 20 minutes to allow time for it to provision. If you have, please restart the environment as CVP can sometimes hang in the startup process. After this, please reach out to a member of the team via our webchat or our Contact Us form.

Q4.Can I reset my lab environment?
You can reset your lab environment using the lab reset menu on the main topology page. You can also do the same within CVP, reconcile your switches, once completed remove all configlets except ATD-INFRA and BASE configlets. This will reset your switches back to the starting point of the lab.

Q5.Can you pause my labs?
Unfortunately we cannot pause them. If you have purchased a Self-Paced Training course you can activate your lab time when you are ready.

Q6.Will my lab continue to run?
Your lab will shut down after 12 hours of running, or 3 hours of no activity, however you are able to restart it at any time.

Q7.What if I have problems with my lab environment?
If you have taken an Instructor-Led Training course, your instructor will be able to help during your class week. If you have purchased a Self-Paced Training course or your class has ended, then please reach out to a member of the team via our webchat or our Contact Us form.

Q1.What should I expect to receive once I purchase my training?
For Intructor-Led Training courses, you will have access to a lab environment to support your training as well as the corresponding Self-Paced Training course. If you have purchased a Self-Paced Training course, you will have access to course videos in addition to a lab environment.

Q2.When do I gain access to my training?
If you are taking an Instructor-Led Training Course, you will have access to your course the day the course begins through your Arista Academy Dashboard. If you have purchased a Self-Paced Training Course, once your order is completed, it will be accessible through your Arista Academy Dashboard.

Q3.Can I download my training?
Arista’s licensing does not permit downloading of any training, however you can view all of your training on Arista Academy.
